In the field of new energy vehicles, supercapacitors are widely used in the braking energy recovery system of urban hybrid electric buses. The braking energy recovery system composed of super capacitor module can absorb and store all kinetic energy generated by vehicle braking. When the vehicle power needs to be increased temporarily, such as during acceleration or climbing, it should absorb power from the energy storage system composed of battery and super capacitor. When the power demand of the vehicle is low, the energy storage system is charged. In this way, not only is energy efficiency increased, but also the vehicle can recover energy when it decelerates through regenerative braking.
